摘要：Este estudo teve como objetivo investigar a qualidade de vida em pessoas com câncer que buscam assistência em casas de apoio. A amostra foi composta por mulheres (82,5%) e homens (17,5%), (N=57). A metodologia foi quanti-qualitativa. Utilizou-se um questionário sócio demográfico, a escala de qualidade de vida geral EORTC QLC– 30 e uma entrevista em profundidade. As maiores incidências foram para os cânceres de mama 50%, e o de colo do útero 12,5%. A qualidade de vida foi verificada como positiva. O apoio foi relatado como fundamental para atravessar a fase crítica da doença e a reabilitação, melhorando a qualidade de vida. O câncer foi relacionado à morte e o diagnóstico implica abalo emocional para o doente e sua família. A quimioterapia traz sofrimento físico e psíquico.
其他摘要：Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the quality of life in people with cancer who are seeking assistance in support homes. The sample was composed mostly of women (82.5%) but also of men (17.5%) (N=57). The methodology was quantitative and qualitative. For the study we used a socio- demographic questionnaire, the scale of overall quality of life EORTC QLC-30 and an in-depth interview. The highest occurrences of the disease were for 50% of breast cancers, and uterine cervix: 12.5%. Quality of life was evaluated as positive. The support was reported as fundamental to cross the critical phase of the disease and rehabilitation, encouraging the development of the life quality. The cancer was initially associated to death and the diagnosis was received with much sadness and emotional shock both to the patient and their family. The treatment, particularly chemotherapy, brings much physical and mental suffering.
