摘要：Este artigo, realizado a partir de análise bibliográfica e documental, teve por objetivo entender a secular relação entre o trabalho e o capital atentando para a inserção do turismo como prática destinada ao tempo de não-trabalho, que tem ampliado o consumo em massa. Por meio de um resgate histórico foi verificado diferenças entre as viagens a lazer do passado e o turismo conhecido no presente, no intuito de estabelecer uma crítica não ao direito humano de realizar viagens a lazer, mas à mercantilização capitalista desse direito e à própria lógica capitalista em si, manifestada na prática da atividade turística. Nesse processo destacou-se o papel do Estado e sua intervenção por meio de políticas públicas, onde foi visto que na maioria das vezes essas tem favorecido a grupos de investidores externos em detrimento das populações locais desfavorecidas.
其他摘要：This article was carried through a bibliographical and documentary analysis. It had for objective to understand the secular relation between the work and the capital, taking into account the insertion of the tourism as a practice destined to the free time which has extended the use of it in mass. Through a historical rescue it was verified some differences between the trips for leisure of the past and the tourism known nowadays. It has as an intention to establish a critical point of view, not to the human right to go on trips for leisure, but to the merchandising of this right and to the suitable logical capitalist in itself manifested in the practice of the touristic activity. In this process was pointed out the role of the State and its intervention through the public politics, where it was seen that most of the time the public politics have favored the groups of external investors in detriment of the disfavored local populations.
