摘要：O texto ora apresentado objetiva encaminhar uma análise acerca do valor artístico e cultural do bordado de Caicó e sua relação comercial com a atividade turística. Como técnica de pesquisa, realizou-se levantamento bibliográfico que contribuiu para entendimento conceitual referente à temática que perpassa, prioritariamente, pela discussão de patrimônio cultural e turismo cultural. A coleta de dados se deu por entrevistas não estruturadas com alguns visitantes da cidade, bordadeiras e representantes do poder público e do terceiro setor. Os resultados permitiram confirmar que há uma diminuição na qualidade estética e artística do bordado se fazendo sentir a partir da introdução de máquinas industriais que contribuíram para a otimização da produção, comprometendo a manutenção do valor artístico e cultural que fez o bordado ganhar espaço no contexto da atividade turística.
其他摘要：The text now presented objectively transmit an analysis about the artistic value and cultural of the embroidery of Caico and its commercial relationship with the tourist activity. As the technique of research, was conducted bibliographical survey that has contributed to understanding conceptual on the theme that runs through as a priority for the discussion of cultural heritage and cultural tourism. The data collection was carried by nonstructured interviews with some visitors to the city, embroiderers and representatives of the public power and the third sector. The results allowed to confirm that there is a decrease in the quality aesthetic and artistic of the embroidery is experienced from the introduction of industrial machines that have contributed to the optimization of the production, jeopardizing the maintenance of artistic and cultural that did the embroidery gain space in the context of tourist activity.
