摘要：En este ensayo presentamos algunos apuntes históricos sobre las universidades comunitarias en el sur de Brasil y comentamos sus características más relevantes, destacando su papel en el desarrollo regional. Nos detenemos con más detalle en el caso de la Universidad Feevale, que sirve como referente para posteriormente identificar algunas aproximaciones y divergencias con relación a los community colleges de los Estados Unidos. Al concluir, enfatizamos que tanto las universidades comunitarias de Brasil como los community colleges de Estados Unidos han contribuido significativamente a disminuir las brechas educacionales y culturales existentes en las regiones donde actúan.
其他摘要：This essay presents some historical notes on community colleges or universities in the South of Brazil and discusses their most relevant characteristics, highlighting their role in regional development. The case of Feevale University is studied in greater detail; it serves as a reference for the later identification of approximations and differences related to community colleges in the United States. Finally, the study emphasizes that both community universities in Brazil as well as community colleges in the United States have contributed significantly to reducing the existing educational and cultural gaps in regions where they operate.
