摘要：Este estudio intenta indagar el papel que cumple la escuela en la ?modelación? de los menores. Si bien se trata de un estudio basado en fuentes historiográficas, su interés no es tanto ubicar las condiciones históricas que determinan el tránsito de uno a otro sistema educativo, como el de encontrar los elementos que permitan entender las pautas de funcionamiento de la escuela como sistema. Antes que avances en el sistema escolar, lo que se ubica son desplazamientos de unas formas de control de la infancia a otras de tipo distinto. El estudio se ubica en Quito en el último tercio del siglo XIX y primeras décadas del XX.
其他摘要：This study attempts to investigate the role of the school in ?forming minors?. Even though this is a study based on historiographic sources, its interest is not so much in locating the historical conditions that determine a transition from one educational system to another, but rather in finding elements that allow one to understand the functioning guidelines of the school as a system. What is located are displacements in forms of control of children to other different ones, instead of progress in the school system. The study is located in Quito during the last third of the Nineteenth Century and the first decades of the Twentieth.
