摘要：Este trabajo ofrece un panorama general de las políticas de ciencia y tecnología en México, haciendo referencia particular al caso de la UNAM. Una de las principales consideraciones de este trabajo gira en torno a las dificultades que el desarrollo científico ha tenido que sortear en el contexto de las severas limitaciones por las que ha atravesado la economía mexicana durante las últimas dos décadas. A pesar de su larga tradición en el país y los logros que las actividades científicas de la UNAM han alcanzado en los últimos años, no ha sido posible revertir el papel casi marginal que tales actividades han jugado en cuanto a sus contribuciones al desarrollo de la economía nacional y en la resolución de los grandes problemas que por décadas han afectado a México.
其他摘要：SOME REFLECTIONS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AT UNAM WITHIN THE LATIN AMERICAN AND NATIONAL AMBIT. This paper offers a general panorama of the politics of science and technology in Mexico, with particular reference to the case of UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). One of the main considerations of this article revolves round the obstacles that scientific development has had to sort out in the context of the severe limitations the mexican economy has suffered during the last two decades. Despite its prestige in the country and the achievements of the scientific activity at UNAM in the past years, it has been impossible to revert the almost marginal role such activities have played in the contribution to the development of the national economy and to the solution of the hard problems that have ailed Mexico in the past decades.
