摘要：Este trabajo estudia los principales textos autorreflexivos de los escritores chilenos desde la generación de 1842, seleccionados y ordenados por José Promis. Analiza los conceptos referidos al carácter de la literatura (homogéneo, plural o ambivalente) y propone la existencia de tres orientaciones diferentes: la nacionalista; la universalista o internacionalista; y la interculturalista o híbrida.

It analyzes the concepts referred to the character of the literature (homogeneous, plural or ambivalent) and proposes the existence of three different ways, nationalist; universalist or internationalist, and intercultural or hybrid.
