摘要：En este artículo se trata de explicar el comportamiento de la mujer en la docencia y la investigación en el área de educación matemática; se presentan estadísticas tomadas del reporte sobre las investigaciones en el área de educación matemática realizadas en México durante la década de los noventa (1992-2001), por el Consejo Mexicano de Investigación Educativa (COMIE), que se explican a través de investigaciones realizadas en las áreas de psicología, neurología y genética.
