摘要：Resulta necesario pensar un nuevo modelo de desarrollo que resalte las cuestiones económicas, pero también los aspectos sociales y la integración hombre - naturaleza. El turismo de base comunitaria se configura como una alternativa de trabajo e ingreso y como promot or del desarrollo sustentable. Mayormente es implementado junto a las comunidades tradicionales, híbridas y autóctonas en zonas costeras y rurales. En este contexto surge la pregunta de investigación: ¿Si el turismo de base comunitaria se aplica a una zona urbana utilizando una experiencia en la favela, podría considerarse turismo de base comunitaria? Se busca analizar el emprendimiento Favela Inn Hostel en la comunidad de Chapéu Mangueira, en el municipio de Rio de Janeiro, bajo los principios de un proyec to de turismo de base comunitaria. Se realizó una investigación exploratoria en base al análisis documental y la entrevista semiestructurada. Se observó que el Favela Inn Hostel y los acuerdos establecidos para la práctica del turismo benefician a la comun idad de Chapéu Mangueira (RJ).

It is necessary to think of a new development model that emphasizes the economic issues and also the social aspects and integration of human and nature. The community - based tourism is configured, beyond an alternative of employment and income, a promoter o f sustainable development. Most of the community - based tourism is developed in traditional communities, hybrid communities and native communities in coastal and rural areas. In this context, arises the research question, if experience of community - based to urism applied in urban area, using an experiment in slums, could be configured as community - based tourism. The objective is to analyze the enterprise Favela Inn Hostel in Chapéu Mangueira, in the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, under the principles of a de sign community - based tourism. For this, were utilized exploratory research, based on documentary analysis and semi - structured interviews to analyze the experience. Was found that the Favela Inn Hostel and the arrangements established by the practice of tou rism benefits the community Chapéu Mangueira (RJ), in which the level of engagement and framework of the projects that make up the experience, fall under the principles of community tourism.
