摘要：Fundamento: en el mundo se observa una tendencia ascendente en la ocurrencia de las infecciones de transmisión sexual, incluido el Virus de inmunodeficiencia Sida a expensas de un desplazamiento de las relaciones sexuales a edades cada vez más tempranas. Ob jetivo: determinar el nivel de conocimientos sobre ITS/VIH/SIDA en estudiantes del tecnológico de la salud "Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja". M étod o: se realizó un estudio experimental de intervención, cuanticualitativo transversal desde septiembre de 2007 a marzo de 2008. El universo se constituyó por doscientos diez estudiantes de segundo año de Tecnología de la salud, se tomó una muestra de ciento ochenta estudiantes seleccionados a través de un muestreo aleatorio simple a los que se les aplicó un cuestionario. Resultados: predominó el grupo de edades de 3645 años y tuvo mayor incidencia el sexo femenino. Se evidenció un nivel de conocimiento sobre las infecciones de transmisión sexual, incluido el Virus de inmunodeficiencia Sida¿ las acciones educativas al inicio de la intervención educativa fueron bajas en cuanto al conocimiento y al final se alcanzó niveles satisfactorios. Conclus ion es: después de aplicar la intervención se logró un aumento significativo del conocimiento en los estudiantes sobre el virus, por lo que se consideró efectiva la intervención.
其他摘要：Background : in the world an upward tendency in the occurrence of sexually transmitted infections, included HIV/AIDS is observed, at the expense of a displacement of sexual intercourses to more and more early ages. Objective: Method: a quantiqualitative, crosssectional, experimental intervention study was conducted, from September 2007 to March 2008. The universe was constituted by 210 students of second year. A sample of 180 students selected through a simple random sampling to those were applied a questionnaire. Resu lt s: the age group of 3645 years prevailed and bigger incidence of the female sex. A low knowledge level on STI/HIV/AIDS and educational actions at the beginning of the educational intervention was evidenced and at the end, satisfactory levels were reached. Conclus ion s: After applying the intervention a significant increase of knowledge was achieved in the students on STI/HI /AIDS, for what the intervention was considered effective.
