摘要：El aislamiento de cocos gramnegativos anaerobios pertenecientes a la familia Veillonellacere como agente causal de meningoencefalitis bacteriana es infrecuente. Se presenta el caso de un niño de cinco años de edad ingresado en la sala "Guiteras" del Hospital Pediátrico Provincial Docente "Dr. Eduardo Agramonte Piña" de la ciudad de Camagüey desde el 18 de enero al 4 de marzo de 2005. El paciente acudió al cuerpo de guardia por dolor de cabeza e inestabilidad en la marcha. Ingresó, se le diagnosticó un tumor en fosa cerebral posterior (astrocitoma) y fue operado. Se le desarrolló una fístula que se infectó por Veillonella, lo que desencadenó un cuadro de meningoencefalitis bacteriana secundaria, resolvió con tratamiento endovenoso con Meronen y Vancomicina. Se explica el diagnóstico bacteriológico empleado en los laboratorios de Microbiología del Hospital Pediátrico y del Centro Provincial de Higiene, Epidemiología y Microbiología según los esquemas vigentes en el país y en la literatura internacional.
其他摘要：The isolation of gram-negative anaerobic cocci belonging to Veillonellaceae family as causal agent of bacterial meningoencephalities is unfrequent. A case of a five years-old child admitted in Guiteras ward at "Dr. Eduardo Agramonte Piña" Pedriatic Teaching Hospital of Camagüey city, from January 18th to March 4th, 2005. The patient attended at the Emergency ward suffering headache and also instability in the march. He was admitted, was diagnosed a tumor in the posterior cerebral fossa (astrocytoma) and he was operated. A fistula developed and also gets infected by Veillonella; it provoked a secondary bacterial meningoencephalities picture, which was treated with Meronen and Vancomycin endovenous treatment. The bacteriological diagnosis used in the Microbiology labs at the Pedriatic hospital and Microbiology & Epidemiology Hygiene Provincial Center, according to the current projects of the country and in the international literature, is explained.
