摘要：O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar as relações entre desempenho escolar de alunos do ensino fundamental e suas orientações motivacionais. Participaram 150 estudantes, entre 9 e 12 anos de idade, de uma escola pública do Estado de São Paulo, que cursavam a 3ª e 4ª séries do ensino fundamental. Os resultados revelaram que na terceira série houve uma correlação significativa e negativa entre motivação extrínseca e desempenho escolar, ou seja, quanto menor o desempenho escolar maior a motivação extrínseca. No que diz respeito à motivação intrínseca e o desempenho escolar, as variáveis não apresentaram correlação significativa. Na 4ª série houve uma correlação significativa e negativa entre motivação extrínseca e desempenho escolar, ou seja, quanto menor o desempenho escolar maior a motivação extrínseca. No que diz respeito à motivação intrínseca e o desempenho escolar as variáveis apresentaram correlação significativa e positiva, indicando que quanto maior o desempenho maior a motivação intrínseca.
其他摘要：The intent of this research was to investigate if a relationship exists between the school performance and the motivational orientations from elementary students. Participants were 150 male and female elementary school children, aged between 9 and 12 years of two public schools from Sao Paulo State. The results indicated that in the third-grade there was a negative and significant correlation between extrinsic motivation and the school performance, that is, the lower the school performance the higher the extrinsic motivation. For the intrinsic motivation and school performance, variables showed no significant correlation and extrinsic motivation and in the fourth-grade, the results showed a significant and positive correlation. For the fourth-grade, there was a negative and significant correlation between extrinsic motivation and school performance, that is, the lower the school performance the higher the extrinsic motivation. For the intrinsic motivation and school performance, variables showed a positive and significant correlation, indicating that the higher the school performance the higher the intrinsic motivation.
