摘要：Éste artículo expone un método alternativo para medir la competitividad industrial; se basa en el análisis del flujo comercial de una industria o clase industrial calculado a través de índices de ventajas comparativas reveladas. Se plantea la conveniencia de utilizar el índice de ventajas comparativas reveladas de balanza-flujos (Vij). La presentación se ejemplifica en la industria mexicana del calzado en el periodo 1980-1996. Se finaliza con conclusiones sobre el desempeño competitivo de esta industria antes y después de la apertura comercial.
其他摘要：This arricie exposes an alternative method to measure the industrial competitiveness; it is based on the analysis of the commercial flow of an industry or industrial class calculated through Índices of revealed compararive advantages. It is outlined the convenience of using the índex of revealed comparative advantages of scale - flows (Vi/). The presentarion is exemplified in Mexican industry of the footwear in the period 1980-1996. It is ended with conclusions on the competitive performance of this industry before and after the commercial opening.
