摘要：O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar a antro- pometria e a potência muscular de nadadores em função dos estágios maturacionais. Com caráter desenvolvimentista do tipo descritivo compara- tivo de corte transversal, a amostra foi composta por 91 nadadores com idades entre oito e 18,9 anos, estratificados através dos estágios da matu- ração sexual de Tanner, P1 n= 9, P2 n= 11, P3 n= 15, P4 n= 23 e P5 n= 33. Utilizouse para a avaliação antropométrica a massa corpórea, esta- tura, envergadura, a diferença entre envergadura e estatura, como também a composição corporal; para a potência muscular utilizou-se a de membros superiores e inferiores bem como a potência de nado. Os resultados apresentam uma diferença significativa entre os estágios P3 e P4 (p=0,000) o que leva a concluir que a maturação sexual apresenta-se como mais um veículo de identifi- cação da antropometria e potência muscular para crianças e adolescentes. Recomenda-se que a diferença entre a envergadura e estatura funcione como um índice para a identificação da performance de nadadores.
其他摘要：This study aimed at comparing both the swim- mers' muscular energy and anthropometry, both based on the maturational probations. With the developmental feature of the comparative descriptive type of transversal cut, the sample consisted of 91 swimmers between eight and 18,9 years old, all of them stratified by Tanner's sexual maturation probation, P1 n = 9, P2 n = 11, P3 n = 15, P4 n = 23 and P5 n = 33. In order to accomplish the analysis of the anthropomet- ric evaluation there had been used the corpo- ral mass, stature, span, the difference among span and stature, as well as the corporal composition; for the muscular energy there had been used the upper and lower limbs as well as the energy of the swimming strength. The results have revealed a significant difference between stages P3 and P4 (p=0,000), which leads to conclude that the sexual maturation emerges as one another vehicle for identifying the anthropometry and muscular energy in both children and adolescents. It is thus recommended that the difference between span and stature should function as an index for the identification of the swimmers' performance.
