摘要：En este trabajo se estudian algunos mármoles que el labrante gaditano Salvador Alcaraz y Valdés contrató durante la década de 1750 con el fin de contextualizar su valía en un entorno peculiar como las Islas Canarias. Por ello el planteamiento aportado supera la común lectura formal e intenta aproximar dichas realizaciones a una compleja realidad mercantil, en la que adquieren igual validez las advertencias e inquietudes del promotor, el ajuste establecido para su realización, los pagos, el proceso de labra y su envío posterior hasta el Archipiélago.
其他摘要：In this paper we study some marble pieces produced by Salvador Alcaraz y Valdes in the 1750’s in order to contextualize the value of this work in a region as unique as the Canary Islands. Therefore, the interpretation goes beyond the usual formal considerations to include the complex market realities where equal weighting and importance is given to the warnings and concerns of the developer, the arrangements established for the realisation of the piece, the payments made, the process of the sculpture and the eventual transfer to the Islands.
