摘要：En nuestra opinión resulta obligado un primer avance del estado de la cuestión en Canarias, que permita profundizar en el futuro sobre la historia del reloj, no solamente en el ámbito público sino, desde luego, también en la dimensión privada. Se trata, sin duda, de un capítulo importante de la historia cultural del tiempo en las islas del Atlántico que, en el futuro, puede depararnos nuevos y alentadores proyectos de investigación. Se aprecia que el tema ha sido muy poco investigado, si bien constan observaciones y datos puntuales de muchísimo interés, tanto en compilaciones documentales como también en diferentes ensayos y monografías sobre el patrimonio histórico-artístico.
其他摘要：In our opinion, there is a need to set the basis for this study of the public clock and timekeeping in the Canary Islands which represents the first step towards an in-depth study of time at both the public and the private level. It is a question, undoubtedly, of an important chapter of the cultural history of time in the islands of the Atlantic Ocean that, in the future, can provide new and productive research projects. The subject has not been much re- searched in the past with only a few observations on this respect and sporadic but interesting information, both in various essays and monographs on the historical-artistic heritage of the Islands.
