摘要：El objetivo de este estudio fue presentar evidencias empíricas de un nuevo modelo de los valores humanos, basado en un análisis teórico de las funciones de valores terminales. Dos funciones consensuales han sido identificadas: (a) los valores como principios-guía de las acciones humanas y (b) los valores como representación cognitiva de las necesidades humanas. La primera función diferencia tres tipos de orientaciones valorativas (social, personal o central), mientras que la segunda función clasifica los valores como materialistas (pragmaticos) o humanitarios (idealistas). La combinación de estas dos funciones origina seis subfunciones de los valores (hipótesis de estructura), representadas por marcadores valorativos específicos (hipótesis de contenido). Éstas hipótesis han sido corroboradas en una muestra de estudiantes españoles (N = 582). Dicho modelo se presenta como teóricamente fundamentado, parsimonioso e integrativo, permitiendo prediciones específicas sobre el contenido y la estructura de los valores. Se discuten las implicaciones de éstos hallazgos y son señaladas las contribuciones que este modelo aporta a los estudios sobre los valores desde una perspectiva funcionalista.
其他摘要：This paper describes a new model of human values based on a theoretical analysis of the functions of terminal values. Two consensual functions are identified: (a) values as guides of human actions and (b) values as expressions of human needs. The first function differentiates three types of value orientations (social, personal or central), whereas the second function classifies values as either materialistic (pragmatic) or humanitarian (idealistic). A combination of these two functions yields six subfunctions of values (structural hypothesis) with specific marker values (content hypothesis). These hypotheses were supported with a Spanish sample of students (N = 582). This model is as theoretically-grounded, parsimonious, and integrative, allowing specific predictions about the content and structure of values. Implications of these findings are discussed, and the contributions of this model to future studies on values from a functionalist perspective are discussed.
