摘要：El contenido del presente ensayo consiste en una serie de reflexiones producto de confrontar las teorías sobre la ancianidad y los modelos explicativos que de ahí se han derivado. Por lo mismo, analiza el proceso de construcción y reconstrucción de las representaciones sociales en los ancianos bajo el supuesto de que éstas terminan promoviendo acciones sociales.
