摘要：El objetivo del presente estudio fue conocer si hay correlación entre la forma en que se expresa la intimidad en la pareja y el rol de género que se adopta dentro de la dinámica conyugal. Se evaluaron 178 mexicanos migrantes. Más de la mitad de los participantes tenía a su pareja en México, y una proporción ligeramente menor vivía con ella en Estados Unidos. Los resultados reflejan que, sin importar si la pareja vive o no con la persona migrante, la intimidad que se genera es para fomentar el rol del buen padre o madre y no el de cónyuge. No obstante, la diferencia entre vivir con la pareja o estar separado de ella radica en la necesidad de integración social en el lugar en el que se pretende residir.
其他摘要：The aim of this study was to know if there is a correlation between the way in which intimacy is expressed in the couple, and the gender role that is adopted in the couple¿s dynamics. The sample was composed by 178 Mexican migrants. 52% of the participants had their couple in Mexico and 48% lived with them in United States. The results show that it does not matter if the partner lives or not with the migrant person, the intimacy that is generated is to promote the role of good parent, not the partner's role. Nevertheless, the difference between living with the couple or being separated lies in the need of social integration in the place where one wants to live.
