摘要：El presente artículo da cuenta del proceso de intervención institucional que se realizó en el Departamento de Control y Referencia de Pacientes del Instituto Nacional de Cancerología. La primera parte es un recuento de los aspectos centrales de la conceptualización del cáncer como fenómeno social y como institución. Al respecto, se señala que el cáncer no solamente representa una enfermedad sino uno de los hitos fundamentales en la definición de la institución asistencial. Posteriormente, se exponen los aspectos generales del proceso de intervención: el dispositivo y sus encuadres, el desarrollo de la intervención y los analizadores más importantes. Finalmente, se exponen en las conclusiones los elementos centrales que definen a la institución misma, en su carácter metafórico y su propia institucionalización.
其他摘要：This paper describes the process of institutional intervention that was done in the Department of Control and Patients' Reference at the National Institute of Cancerology, in México City. The first part is an inventory of the central aspects of the conceptualization of cancer as a social phenomenon and as an institution. In this respect, it is indicated that cancer not only represents a disease, but also one of the fundamental highlights in the definition of the welfare institution. Later, there follows an exposition of the general aspects of the process of intervention: the setting, the mechanism and its framework, how the intervention developed, and the analyzers that were considered as the most important. Finally, the central elements that define the institution itself, in its metaphorical character and its own institutionalization, are exposed.
