摘要：En este trabajo nos interesa indagar acerca de las características de las reducciones a cargo de la Compañía de Jesús en la región del Chaco argentino. El estudio de caso está dirigido a la misión de San Fernando, integrada por abipones. Sus orígenes datan de 1750 en el actual territorio de la ciudad argentina de Resistencia, en la provincia del Chaco. Entre los objetivos de su fundación existía el plan de evangelizar a los nativos y a la vez proteger a la ciudad de Corrientes de los avances de estas etnias. Más allá de las dificultades económicas, climáticas y de los conflictos interétnicos existentes partimos de la idea de que dicho poblado tuvo un relativo éxito. Intentaremos demostrar estas ideas a partir algunas fuentes jesuíticas. Nos referimos específicamente a las cartas del misionero José Klein, quien estuvo a cargo de la reducción en sus últimos años y mantuvo interesante correspondencia con el Colegio de Corrientes, de Buenos Aires y de Asunción. Los detallados inventarios realizados en el mes de agosto de 1767 a partir de la expulsión, y las cartas mencionadas se transforman en interesantes fuentes para el abordaje de la temática y la aproximación desde la visión jesuítica al mejor conocimiento del funcionamiento interno y externo de las reducciones. El contraste con otras fuentes nos permitirá recrear en parte la vida de los abipones reducidos en este contexto chaqueño, tema que no fue suficientemente abordado desde la historiografía.
其他摘要：Our interest in this work is to investigate the characteristics of Society of Jesus reductions in the Argentine Chaco region. The case study regards the San Fernando mission, composed of Abipones. Its origin dates back to 1750, at the current site of the city of Resistencia, Chaco province. Among the objectives for its creation was the plan to evangelize the natives, in order to protect the city of Corrientes against the advance of these ethnicities. In spite of the economic and climatic difficulties, as well as the existing ethnic conflicts, we start from the idea that this mission enjoyed relative success. We will attempt to demonstrate this from a few Jesuit sources, such as the letters of the missionary José Klein, in charge of the reduction during its latter years. Klein kept an interesting correspondence with the colleges in Corrientes, Buenos Aires and Asuncion. These letters, added to the detailed inventories performed in August 1767 (the year the Jesuits were expelled), constitute valuable sources when approaching this theme, and, from the Jesuit perspective, bring us closer to a better knowledge of the inner and outer works of the reductions. Comparisons with other sources will enable us to recreate, at least partially, the life of Abipone Indians in this Chaco context, which is a theme that has not been sufficiently researched in historiography.
