摘要：O presente artigo buscou discutir a inserção da Psicologia na área da Assistência Social e a prática profissional do psicólogo no setor público. Para tanto, o contexto atual de implementação do Sistema Único de Assistência Social (SUAS) foi abordado, relacionado, sobretudo à atuação nos Centros de Referência de Assistência Social (CRAS) e às reflexões sobre o compromisso social na Psicologia. Considera a importância da compreensão do profissional, enquanto elemento central na construção da política de Assistência Social e da elaboração de modelos de intervenção psicológicos comprometidos com a transformação da realidade social e as tensões do cotidiano deste trabalho.
其他摘要：This article aims to discuss the inclusion of psychology in the area of Social Welfare and the professional practice of psychology in the public sector. Thus, the current context of implementation of the Single System of Social Welfare - SUAS was approached, related, especially the performance of the Reference Centers of Social Welfare - CRAS and reflections on the social commitment in Psychology. It considers the importance of understanding the professional as a central element in the construction of the Social Welfare and the development of models of psychological intervention committed to the transformation of social reality and the daily tensions at this work.
