摘要：Este documento presenta una contextualización sobre el origen del término bioética y hace énfasis en los planteamientos propuestos por el médico norteamericano Van Rensselaer Potter y en la evolución que tuvo su propuesta durante los años que dedicó al estudio de la bioética. Se hace una reflexión sobre qué aspectos de los propuestos por él han sido tenidos en cuenta en estos cuarenta años y por qué algunos hasta ahora están entrando a hacer parte del escenario bioético.
其他摘要：This document presents a contextualization on the origin of the term bioethics and emphasizes statements proposed by the North American doctor,Van Rensselaer Potter, and the evolution his proposal has undergone during the years he dedicated to the study of the bioethics. Areflection is made regarding which aspects of his proposals have been taken into account during these forty years and why some of them are only now entering the bioethical stage.
