摘要：En México, dada la construcción histórica de un sistema político no democrático, algunos escritores han considerado que su función social rebasa el ámbito estético y creativo y, sumándose a una añeja tradición sobre el sentido y compromiso de los intelectuales, se han autoerigido en los portavoces de una sociedad cuyos canales de expresión habrían sido eliminados por el poder. De cara a un incipiente proceso de democratización, con las nuevas responsabilidades que la sociedad civil deberá asumir: ¿cuál será el futuro de esos intelectuales / escritores? El artículo aborda estas vicisitudes y retos que el nuevo siglo presenta a la sociedad mexicana.
其他摘要：Given the historical construction of non-democratic a political system in Mexico, some writers have considered their function to exceed the aesthetic and creative scope and add themselves to intellectual's aged old tradition of commitment as spokesmen of a society whose channels of expression would have been eliminated by the power. Facing now an insipid democracy process with new responsibilities that society must assume: which will be the future of these intellectuals/writers? The article approaches these vicissitudes and challenges that the new century has for Mexican society and its writers.
