摘要：De las diversas facetas constitutivas de la obra del poeta mexicano Octavio Paz, su reflexión política es, sin duda, la que generó mayor número de polémicas. La lectura de sus últimos trabajos ensayísticos sobre la vida política nacional e internacional iluminan el rescate y la recuperación hecha por Paz, de valores fundamentales de las filosofías políticas a las que acremente criticó y caricaturizó por varias décadas. A siete años de su muerte, tanto por su amplia bibliografía, como por las encendidas disputas en las que se vio inmerso hasta el final de su vida, así como por sus reconsideraciones expresadas en sus escritos postreros, el pensamiento político de Paz continúa siendo un sugerente filón para pensar nuestra contemporaneidad, teniendo siempre en mente el sentido que la democracia y la modernidad debieran asumir en el nuevo siglo iberoamericano.
其他摘要：Of the diverse constituent facets of the work of Mexican poet Octavio Paz, his political ideas, without a doubt, are the ones that have generated the most polemics Reading his latest essays about the national and international politic life, illuminate the rescue and recovery that he did about the fundamental values of the political philosophies which he criticized and mocked through many decades. Seven years after his death, both for his full bibliography as well as his energetic disputes which he was part of until the end of his life, and also from his reconsiderations expressed in his later writings, Paz´s political ideas continue to be an important mine of our modern thinking, having always in mind the sense of democracy and modernity that should be assumed in the new iberoamerican century.
