摘要:The aim of this article is to present a comprehensive reflexive review of Mexican academic communications research, based on the extensive study the author has made on the subject as his doctoral dissertation. In order to achieve his goal, the article presents the results of three of the analyses carried out by the author: a bibliometric analysis on the trends of edited products; an ideological content analysis of researchers´ representations of their practices; and in the conclusion of the study, a model of the "double disjunction" the academic field faces in the nineties,
