摘要：A diversity of factors contributing to the popularity of Brazilian soap operas, both within and outside of Brazil, is discussed. Among these is the emergence of a typical style of soap opera in national television which has developed its own language jind technique to a great commercial sucess, and which is breaking away from the unsubstancial and tear-jerking melodramas of soap operas of other countries.
