摘要：La industria mexicana de las microfinanzas se está transformando. Antes estaba constituida por organizaciones que no perseguían el lucro y que no estaban supervisadas. Hoy, muchas de las entidades que la conforman están sujetas a una inspección gubernamental y/o de mercado. Aun cuando tal transformación acarrea beneficios, existe la preocupación de que la supervisión las induzca a cambiar su nicho de mercado y se orienten a sectores de mayores ingresos. Un panel de datos nos permite examinar tal preocupación y nos da información de cómo minimizar el conflicto que parece existir entre la rentabilidad financiera y el objetivo social.
其他摘要：The Mexican microfinance industry is evolving. Members were previously non-profit informal institutions.Today many of them are supervised either by the government or the market. Even though such transformation carries some benefits, there is concern that it will induce a change in their market niche and orient their financial products towards greater income families. A panel data allows us to examine the validity of such concern and gives us information on how to diminish the conflict that seems to exist between the search for financial yields and the social objective that microfinance institutions pursue.
