摘要：La escritura de El obsceno pájaro de la noche se gestó durante más de diez años. Durante ese tiempo José Donoso luchó para dar forma a la novela. De los problemas que enfrentó, el mayor fue unificar dos relatos independientes que constituyen la matriz del Bird, así llamaba Donoso a la novela. Uno es la historia de Humberto Peñaloza, que se inicia en "Tres metros de cuerda", y el otro es "El último Azcoitía". Ambos textos se encuentran entre los archivos, papers, donosianos que alberga la Biblioteca Main de la Universidad de Iowa. El ensayo que sigue muestra las alternativas de aquella contienda y, también, indaga en la compleja relación entre narración y lenguaje. Relación que, con la teoría contemporánea, planteamos como un viaje del narrador hacia el lenguaje. Una vez allá inicia la búsqueda y la articulación del texto. El lector curioso puede leer lo que sigue para ver si logramos sustentar nuestras afirmaciones sobre los escritos tempranos del Bird.
其他摘要：The writing process of El obsceno pájaro de la noche was undertaken by José Donoso during more than ten years. In this time the author had to struggle heavily to give the novel its final shape. The most difficult problem he faced in the process was to unify two independent narratives that constitute the matrix of Bird, as he called his novel. One of them is Humberto Peñaloza´s story, started in "Tres metros de cuerda". The other was "El último Azcoitía". Both texts can be found among the José Donoso archives at the Iowa University Main Library. The following essay shows the vicissitudes of this struggle and, also, offers insight into the complex relation between narration and language. According to the contemporary theory, this relation is proposed here as a trip the narrator makes towards language. Once he gets there, he starts searching for and articulating the text. The curious reader is invited to examine the following text to see if we can support these statements in our study of Bird´s early drafts.
