摘要：El objetivo de este trabajo estriba en comprender con base en el análisis de las fuentes antropológicas, textos coloniales y códices las creencias mayas en torno a los líquidos que circulan dentro del árbol: savia, agua, sangre, leche o semen. Se revisan las asociaciones simbólicas de estas sustancias planteando en cada una su propia polaridad: agua celeste y terrestre, sangre caliente y fría, leche materna y semen paterno. La revisión de este complejo simbólico permite establecer el carácter dual del árbol: en éste fluyen los líquidos sagrados que animan la existencia con sus polaridades macho y hembra unidos en el acto de procrear. Para el pensamiento simbólico de los mayas dentro del árbol sagrado se unen el semen masculino y femenino, la sangre del hombre y la mujer, la sustancia roja y blanca. La aportación esencial de este trabajo radica en presentar una serie de testimonios que permitan reconocer en la cosmovisión maya que la existencia depende de la circulación de las fuerzas divinas opuestas y complementarias; estas últimas se simbolizan en el árbol cósmico, considerado madre y padre.
其他摘要：This paper is based on an analysis of anthropological sources, colonial texts and mayan codices and is concerned with the understanding of the corpus of Mayan beliefs regarding the fluids that circulate within the tree: sap, water, blood, milk, semen. This article reviews the symbolic associations of these substances, discovering that each of them encompasses its own polarity: celestial and terrestrial water, hot and cold blood, maternal milk and paternal semen. The overwiew presented of the symbolic complex associated with the tree allows the author to establish the dual character of it and the fundamental duality of Mayan symbolic thought. Within it sacred fluids flow and those fluids which animate existence reveal the male-female polarities that merge in the act of procreation. In Mayan religion both masculine and feminine are united; the blood of man and woman, masculine and femenine semen and also the red substance and the white one, are the fundamental elements of the sacred tree. The essential contribution of this paper lies in presenting testimonies recognizing the Mayan cosmovision as one that conceives that all existence depends upon the ebb and flow of opposite and complementary forces. These divine sources are symbolized within the mother and father, the cosmic tree.
