摘要：Este artículo presenta, basado en nuevos documentos del Archivo Nacional de Cuba, una nueva perspectiva en cuanto a las dimensiones cubanas y atlánticas del "caso" Amistad, diferentes de las interpretaciones tradicionales. En este contexto el nuevo material de La Habana, New Haven, Londres, Lisboa, Madrid, Arenys de Mar y Praia (Islas Cabo Verde) muestra la historia de vida real del capitán catalán asesinado en la rebelión de los cautivos de la goleta Amistad en 1839. Primero, el artículo presenta a Ferrer como propietario de no solamente un pequeño barco costero, sino de dos o tres barcos (uno de éstos el moderno Vapor Principeño). Estos barcos hicieron no solamente transportes en la costa sino también comercio de contrabando a África. Ferrer y sus socios utilizaron las ganancias de este gigante negocio atlántico para la acumulación de nuevos capitales y lo invirtieron en el fomento de nuevas áreas de azúcar y esclavos en Cuba, así como en la inversión en las modernas tecnologías como ferrocarriles y vapores.
其他摘要：The article presents, based on new archival foundings, a new perspective of the Cuban and the Atlantic dimensions of the Amistad "case", different to the traditional interpretations. In this context the newarchival material from Havana, New Haven, London, Lisboa, Madrid, Arenys de Mar, and Praia (Cape Verde island) shows the real history of the catalan captain killed in the rebellion of the captives of the schoonerAmistad in 1839. First the article presents Ferrer as the owner of not only one little coastal schooner, but of two or three ships (one of them the modern steamer Vapor Principeño). These ships did not only coastal transport but also contraband trade to Africa. Ferrer and his partners used the profits of the giant Atlantic business for the accumulations of new capitals and invested it in promoting new sugar and slave areas in Cuba and in the modern technologies like railsroads and steamers.
