摘要：La inmigración extranjera en la Región de Murcia es un fenómeno reciente. En el año 2006 alcanzaba la cifra de 189.053 inmigrantes, la cuarta parte de ellos (24,51%) se ubicaban en el municipio de Murcia. En su distribución en los 885,9 km2 del término, entre las 54 pedanías y 27 barrios de la ciudad, se observan claras diferencias en cuanto al número, proporción, origen, etc. De las más de cien nacionalidades, la mitad de los inmigrantes corresponden a los procedentes de Marruecos y Ecuador, pero también sobresale el colectivo de Ucrania y, en menor medida, los de Bolivia, Colombia y Bulgaria.

Immigrant population reached the number of 189.053 in 2006 and a quarter of them (24,51%) had settled down in the municipality of Murcia. There are evident differences regarding number, origin and rate of immigrant population in its distribution along the 885,9 square kilometres, 27 districts and 54 dependent towns that make up the municipality of Murcia. More than 100 different nationalities are present in Murcia, but nearly half of the immigrants are either from Morocco or Ecuador. There is also an outstanding Ukranian community and some other signifi cant groups, including people from Bolivia, Colombia and Bulgaria.
