摘要：Las Pluvisilvas submontanas sobre rocas metamórficas se desarrollan entre 400 y 700 msnm en Las Cuchillas y Mesas de Baracoa-Imias. Las lluvias alcanzan alrededor de 3000 mm sin época seca. Las rocas son esquistos y tobas y los suelos son Ferralíticos rojo lixiviados, pobres y ácidos. Las mismas tienen un estrato arbóreo de 18 a 20 m, con emergentes de 25 a 30 m. Estas pluvisilvas conforman la alianza Alchorneo-Calophyllion rivularis con la asociación Alchorneo-Calophylletum rivularis con dos subasociaciones.

The rocks consist in schistous and calcareus tufa and red ferralitics soils, lixiviated, poor and acid. The rain forest has an arboreal layer between 18 and 20 meters and emergents with 25 and 30 m. These rain forest conforms the alliance Alchorneo-Calophyllion rivularis with the association Alchorneo-Calophylletum rivularis with two subasociations.
