摘要：A partir dos dois primeiros volumes da trilogia Civilisation Matérielle, Économie et Capitalisme (1979) -Les Structures du Quotidian e Les Jeux d'Échange- escrita pelo historiador francês Fernand Braudel (1902-1985), a proposta deste artigo é discutir como ele articulava a geografia e a história. Relacionando espaço geográfico e tempo histórico e interpretando o espaço como estrutura e a técnica como um meio, será possível fazer um balanço introdutório dos encontros e desencontros entre o pensamento geográfico e a historiografia no século XX.
