摘要：En este trabajo se discute la importancia de la declaración de la Sierra la Laguna como Reserva de Biósfera y se analizan los logros, carencias y retos de esta Reserva. Desde su creación como reserva se intensificaron los trabajos taxonómicos y ecológicos; se ha impulsado la conservación de especies y ecosistemas, restauración de suelos, reforestación y control de invasoras y se promueven acciones para la inclusión de los pobladores en programas de pago por servicios ambientales y mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de los rancheros. La principal amenaza para esta y varias reservas de México son los proyectos de explotación minera a cielo abierto, los cuales deberían estar explícitamente prohibidos en la legislación vigente de las áreas naturales protegidas.
其他摘要：In this paper the importance of the declaration of the Sierra la Laguna as a Biosphere Reserve is discussed; also the achievements, gaps and challenges of this reserve are analyzed. One achievement is the increment of the scientific knowledge, intensified taxonomic and ecological work since the reserve was created. It has promoted the conservation of species and ecosystems, soil restoration, reforestation and invasive species control. The managers of the reserve have included the local residents in the programs of payments for environmental services and improving the quality of life of the ranchers. The main threat to this, and several Mexican reserves, is the projects of open pit mining, which should be explicitly prohibited by current legislation of natural protected areas
