摘要：El urbanismo sustentable o nuevo urbanismo, es una manera actual de hacer a las ciudades sustentables, en lo referente a los aspectos urbanos. El diseño ecológicamente responsable es una herramienta muy útil en la creación de Arquitectura Sustentable, por tanto, en el nuevo urbanismo o urbanismo sustentable, también se toma como base el diseño ecológicamente responsable, hacia el ámbito urbano. La mayoría de las ciudades importantes de la actualidad son metrópolis que han crecido de manera desorganizada, y han perdido a su vez, la identidad que al inicio las caracterizaba, además de su funcionalidad y su estética. El urbanismo sustentable integra aspectos de estética, sustentabilidad y funcionalidad de las ciudades para otorgarles a sus habitantes o usuarios una mayor calidad de vida. Por tanto, el urbanismo sustentable es una nueva manera de hacer urbanismo en el mundo, y en México no debe ser la excepción.

Therefore, the Ecologic design is basic to make sustainable urbanism toward the urban environment. Most of the cities at present time are metropolises that have grown in a disorganized way, and they have lost the identity that one day characterized them, also their beauty and functionality. Sustainable Urbanism integrates aesthetic, sustainability and functionality aspects in cities, to give their habitants an excellent quality of life. Therefore, sustainable urbanism is a new way to make urbanism in the world, and Mexican cities are not an exception.
