摘要：El objetivo principal de este artículo es presentar un diagnóstico sobre la consolidación democrática en el Estado de México a partir de dos elementos clave: el capital social y la participación electoral. Se hace un análisis de la confianza de los ciudadanos sobre las instituciones públicas, el interés que muestran éstos por los asuntos políticos y las redes sociales establecidas entre ellos, para advertir la relación que tiene el capital social con los niveles de participación electoral. Se argumenta que a inicios del siglo XXI, en la entidad mexiquense, todavía hay un generalizado desinterés por los asuntos públicos y una exigua cultura de la participación política.
其他摘要：The objective of this article is to present a diagnosis of democratic consolidation in the State of Mexico based on two key elements: Social Capital and electoral participation. It is presented an analysis of citizen trust in public institutions; specifically about the interest shown by citizens to the political matters and the social networks established between them. In this way, it was possible to learn about the relationship of the social capital with the levels of electoral participation. It is stated that, at the beginning of the XXI century in the Mexican entity, there is still a widespread lack of interest in public affairs and a scanty culture of political participation.
