摘要：La historia de la cartografía ha conocido una revolución en términos de expectativas disciplinares y resultados académicos. Una de sus figuras principales, Brian Harley, exploró las relaciones entre cartografía, conocimiento y poder, estimulando el análisis sobre el papel de los mapas y de la racionalidad cartográfica en términos cultuales, sociales y políticos. Este artículo sintetiza sus aportes y presenta un panorama general sobre el campo de investigación en historia de la cartografía a nivel internacional y a nivel de Colombia y América Latina.
其他摘要：The history of cartography has undergone a revolution in terms of disciplinary expectations and academic production. One of the principal figures behind this shift, Brian Harley, explored the relationship between cartography, knowledge, and power, stimulating the analysis of the role of maps and cartographic rationality in culture, social, and political terms. This article summarizes his contributions and provides an overview on the state of the history of cartography internationally and in Colombia and Latin America.
