摘要：Este trabajo describe el camino que recorrió la Junta de Cartagena desde su formación hasta la declaración de independencia. Así se muestran las condiciones que se dieron, primero para ser creada y posteriormente para mantener la gobernabilidad en medio de la crisis política que vivía la metrópoli. La hipótesis sugiere que la Junta mantuvo su lealtad al Consejo y las Cortes hasta el momento en que estas últimas la desconocieron. Finalmente, como reacción frente al rechazo de sus peticiones, la Junta de Cartagena tomó la decisión de declarar su independencia.
其他摘要：This work describes the path followed by the Cartagena Junta from its formation to its declaration of independence. It aims to show what factors conditioned its creation and then the maintenance of governability in the midst of the metropolitan political crisis. As an hypothesis, it suggests that the Junta maintained its loyalty to the Council and the Courts until the moment in which the latter did not recognize it. The Cartagena Junta's decision to declare its independence, therefore, was a reaction to the rejection of its petitions.
