摘要：El presente estudio exploratorio-descriptivo de tipo cualitativo tuvo como objetivo conocer y explorar la construcción de la identidad de género en transformistas de la zona norte de Chile. Permitió conocer los elementos que componen dicha identidad y las variables que participan en su configuración a partir del análisis de contenido de entrevistas efectuadas a doce transformistas. Los resultados revelan la presencia de una identidad de género ambivalente en los entrevistados, observándose la coexistencia de dos identidades, en las que los polos masculino/femenino surgen dependiendo del contexto en que el individuo se encuentra. Lo anterior es interpretado por las autoras como una estrategia adaptativa frente a la discriminación tanto hetero como homosexual. Esta investigación aporta a profundizar la comprensión de la identidad de género de grupos que han sido escasamente estudiados en Chile.
其他摘要：This exploratory-descriptive research of a qualitative kind, had as its main purpose to know and explore the construction of gender identity in crossed-dressers who live in the north of Chile. This research allowed us to identify the elements that form such identity and the variables that take part in its configuration, starting from the results of twelve interviews applied to crossed-dressers people. The results reveal the presence of an ambivalent gender identity in the interviewed persons, showing the coexistence of two identities, in which the male and female poles are generated depending on the context in which the person is inserted. The former is interpreted by the authors as a socially fitting strategy against discrimination, either hetero or homosexual. This investigation contributes to deepen the understanding of gender identity in groups that have been scarcely studied in Chile.
