摘要：Este artigo trata da vida e obra do Prof. Titular César Ades (in memoriam) que ocupou a cadeira no. 19 da Academia Paulista de Psicologia. Foi psicólogo, com grande erudição, e destaque entre os principais nomes da Universidade de São Paulo (USP-SP). Notabilizou-se na construção da teia da História da Psicologia nessa Universidade, onde atuou durante 47 anos. Foi Diretor do Instituto de Psicologia e do Instituto de Estudos Avançados da Universidade de São Paulo (IEA-USP). Instituiu novas direções de pesquisa e fez acréscimos decisivos ao conhecimento científico, notadamente na área de Etologia.Trabalhou na divulgação científica de temas controvertidos, como a evolução da consciência, direito do animal e comportamento sexual. Primava pela estética, pela história (memória) e pelo respeito em todas as relações. O presente trabalho parte da coerência de C. Ades, que ia da situação experimental, nas pesquisas,ao cotidiano. Também inclui curiosidades que evidenciam sua grandeza humana. A seguir, falando do cientista e gestor, destaca sua concepção do IEA como lugar privilegiado para pensar. Na última parte, estão manifestações de gratidão,notadamente por seu importantíssimo legado à Psicologia. C. Ades indicou aimportância de uma epistemologia que situa os assuntos psicológicos num contexto conceitual mais amplo, fazendo justiça à complexidade dos organismos vivos.
其他摘要：This paper presents the life and work of Professor César Ades (inmemoriam) who occupied the chair no.19 of the São Paulo Academy of Psychology. He was a psychologist, with great erudition, and prominent among the leading names of the University of São Paulo (USP-SP). His name is very important in the construction of the web of the History of Psychology at that University where he served for 47 years. He was Director of the Institute of Psychology and also Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies, at the University of Sao Paulo (IEA-USP). He established new research directions and made critical additions to scientific knowledge, especially in the field of Ethology. He worked for disseminating scientific and controversial issues as the evolution of consciousness, animal rights and sexual behavior. He appreciated the aesthetics and history (memory) and he was very respectful in all relationships. This article begins with the coherence of Cesar ranging from the experimental situation, in research, to the everyday life. It also includes curiosities that revealhis human greatness. Then, speaking of the scientist and manager, it highlights his conception of the IEA as a privileged place for thinking. In the last part, there are expressions of gratitude, especially for his important legacy to psychology. C. Ades indicated the importance of an epistemology that situates psychological issues in a broader conceptual context, doing justice to the complexity of livingorganisms.
