摘要:Bolivian Identity in Buenos Aires: Politics of Cultural Integration Natalia Gavazzo Attending to the modern tendency of considering culture as a developing factor, this paper works the posibillity of thinking it as a tool for the social change. The analized affaire is the politics of cultural integration that pointed to bolivian immigrants in Buenos Aires. This politics, developed by the National State and by the City Government and by the community of immigrants, and also by other agents and institution related to the immigration, wants to solve the exclusion that suffer the bolivians in this city. This exclusion is based on negatives stereotypes that are asigned to the bolivian immigrantes and stigmatize them, so they close their group borders. In front of this situation, some agents promote the cultural integration, main concept of this paper. The integration of the bolivians in Buenos Aires is pursued not only through work, health, education and living place, but through the creation of interchange spaces betwen immigrants and reception society, where cultural issues has an important role. The deployment of the bolivian cultural patrimony, that is exhibited and that gain value, is an intent of reverse the stereotype (turning it into a proudy symbol of their identy) and to promote an intercultural dialogue that encourage the difference respect in the way to equality.
