摘要：O artigo apresenta e analisa a narração de uma encenação teatral realizada pela mãe de santo de um terreiro do Rio de Janeiro sobre a partida, a viagem e a chegada dos escravos africanos no Brasil. A peça é encenada por crianças e membros da família de santo nos quadros de uma atividade educativa. A narração se baseia em uma ideia central: os escravos vieram para o Brasil como portadores de uma cultura material e imaterial, de uma memória e de tradições trazidas por meio daqueles que souberam resistir à escravidão e à condição servil. O candomblé assume neste contexto uma significação política forte e torna-se elemento estruturante da narrativa. Suas entidades tornam-se personagens da peça, com escravos e ancestrais se transformando não apenas em divindades, mas também em libertadores. A figura vitimizada do escravo é assim virada do avesso e se transforma em herói, constrói-se também uma nova narração da nação brasileira que atribui aos escravos e à África um papel central como figuras proeminentes e civilizadoras.
其他摘要：This article presents and analyses the dramatic staging by the mother-of-saint of a terreiro in Rio de Janeiro, which recounts the departure, the voyage, and the arrival of African slaves in Brazil. The play is put on as an educational activity by the children and members of the family-of-saint of the candomblé terreiro. The narrative conveys a central idea: that the slaves came to Brazil bearing with them a material and intangible culture, and a memory of traditions transferred to Brazil by those who were able to resist the laws of slavery and the conditions of servility. The candomblé, a religion with strong political implications in this instance, is a structural element of the narrative, as its deities become characters in the play, those of slaves and ancestors who become not only deities but also liberators. The figure of the slave as victim is thus reversed and transformed into hero, while a new narrative of the Brazilian nation gives slaves and Africa a leading and civilizing role.
