摘要：Este artículo intenta una caracterización del actual gobierno en Venezuela contestando las siguientes preguntas: a) ¿Qué tipo de izquierda es? b) ¿Por qué llega al poder y después de diez años sigue allí? c) ¿Cuáles son los rasgos básicos de su propuesta de sociedad? d) ¿Cuál es su visión y política internacional? e) ¿Hacia dónde se dirige el bolivarianismo después de la derrota de la propuesta de reforma constitucional de 2007? Termina argumentando que, en lo estructural, la economía venezolana ha cambiado poco. La revolución bolivariana parece haber revivido una vez más el llamado ¿Estado mágico¿, que a lo largo de buena parte del siglo xx ilusionó con una modernización que las elites sólo supieron sostener con el excedente que la industria petrolera extrae del mercado internacional de hidrocarburos, sin ninguna contraparte nacional.
其他摘要：This article attempts to characterize the current Venezuelan government by responding to the following questions: a) What sort of Left-wing is it? b) Why did it achieve power and has been able to preserve it during ten years? c) What are the basic features of its proposal for society? d) What is its conception of international affairs and its foreign policy e) In what direction will the Bolivarian movement develop after the rejection of its proposed Constitutional Reform? The author concludes arguing that there has been little structural change in the economy. The Bolivarian revolution appears to have revived once again the so-called Magical State which during most of the twentieth century held out the promise of modernization while depending on the oil rent and failing to create a solid national basis for it.
