摘要：Este estudo objetiva anali sar as características da produção científi ca sobre Ativos Intangíveis, no contexto internacional. A pesquisa é documental, com fonte de dados secundária. O estudo é exploratório-descritivo e qualitativo. Os resultados revelaram: um aumento de publicações na área, a partir de 1999; a maioria dos artigos não apresentou defi nições constitutivas, nem evolução histórica sobre os AIs; os principais elementos utilizados para representar os AIs foram "tecnologia" e "marcas"; em relação ao segmento econômico, 78,0% dos trabalhos apresentaram "segmentos diversos" ou "não apresentam segmentos"; os Estados Unidos lideram os estudos com 56,0% dos trabalhos desenvolvidos; 94,0% dos trabalhos não apresentaram fórmulas para cálculos dos AIs; os eixos teóricos são voltados a questões financeiras, normatizações e tratamento contábil dos AIs, e, em relação às tendências sobre os AIs, observou-se que os estudos fazem alusão à importância cada vez maior destes e à necessidade de maior investigação sobre os mesmos.
其他摘要：This study aims to analyze the characteristics of scientifi c production on Intangible Assets in the international context. The research is documentary, with secondary data source. The study is exploratory-descriptive and qualitative. The results showed: an increase in publications in the area since 1999, most of the articles are presented defi nitions and not constitutive of the historical evolution IAs, the main elements used to represent the IAs was "technology" and "brand" for the economic sector, 78.0% of the work had "various parts" or "no show segments", the United States leading the study with 56.0% of the work, 94.0% of the work presented no formulas to calculate the AIS and (iv) the theoretical axes are oriented to fi nancial matters, regulations and accounting treatment of IAs, and in relation to trends on the AIS, there are studies allude to the increasing importance of and need for more research on them.
