摘要：El artículo analiza la relación entre distintas cohortes etarias y un conjunto de señales que caracterizan las distintas décadas que cubre el proceso de moder-nización en Chile. A partir del análisis del grado en que las distintas cohortes se reconocen en una serie de ámbitos en cada de una las décadas y su corres-pondencia con elementos ideológicos, se plantea la posibilidad de asumir como generaciones a las cohortes que participan del estudio y se discute luego las posibilidades y límites que presenta el componente generacional como analizador social.
其他摘要：The article analyzes the relationship between different age cohorts and a set of signals characterizing the decades that covers the process of modernization in Chile. By analyzing the extent to which the different cohorts are recognized in a number of areas in each of the decades and their correspondence with ideo-logical elements raises the possibility of taking over as generations cohort participating in the study and then discusses the possibilities and limits encountered by the generational component as social analyzer.
