摘要：El presente artículo trata sobre diferentes conceptos de política democrática subyacentes en el actual desarrollo y empleo de Internet. En las tres primeras secciones se abordan diferentes aspectos de la teoría democrática (qué se entiende por democracia, liberalismo y neoliberalismo, y democracia radical, deliberativa o republicanismo cívico) y, a continuación, las consecuencias que tiene esa teoría política para Internet en general y el sistema educativo en particular. Al final se concluye que la Escuela no puede formar sólo para el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación, y que tampoco es suficiente formar para la búsqueda y selección de información con criterio; además ha de ser una herramienta más para implicarse en los problemas de nuestro mundo como ciudadanos responsables que actúan con conocimiento de causa.
其他摘要：This paper focuses on different topics related to democracy underpinning the current development and use of the Internet. In the three first sections, different concepts of democratic theory are discussed (what democracy at large is, what liberalism and neoliberalism are, and the meaning of radical or deliberative democracy). Then, the implications of the Internet for the society in general and for schools in particular are analysed. Finally, it is concluded that schools should not only train on how to use Information Technologies. Students' training on searching for and selecting information is not enough either. It is also imperative to train students to use the Internet as a tool to get involved in the problems of our world as responsible citizens who act knowingly.
