摘要：Se presentaron los principales aspectos que conforman una metodología que establece los requisitos para la clasificación, separación, envasado, almacenamiento, recolección, transporte, tratamiento y disposición final de los desechos peligrosos procedentes de hospitales, fundamentalmente los infecciosos, desarrollada en el Instituto Nacional de Higiene, Epidemiología y Microbiología, con el fin de establecer prioridades para acciones preventivas sobre la base de los peligros que para la salud humana y el ambiente éstos representan. Se adoptó como referencia para la elaboración de la metodología diferentes publicaciones internacionales y ésta consta de 7 etapas básicas. La metodología se ensayó en 2 estudios de caso ejecutados en hospitales de Ciudad de La Habana para verificar la factibilidad de su aplicación.
其他摘要：The main aspects making up a methodology that sets the requirements for the classification, separation, packing, storage, collection, transportation, treatment and final disposal of dangerous wastes from hospitals, mainly those for infection treatment, were set forth in this paper. The methodology developed by the National Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology is aimed at setting priorities for preventive actions on the basis of the harmful effects of such wastes on the human health and the environment. A number of international publications were taken as a reference for working out this methodology which has 7 basic stages. It was tested in two case-studies in hospitals in the City of Havana to verify the feasibility of its implementation.
