摘要：Se realizó un estudio descriptivo con el objetivo de identificar características psicosociales, demográficas y sociales importantes de los ancianos residentes en el municipio "10 de Octubre" quienes realizaron intento de suicidio en los últimos 3 a. La muestra estuvo constituida por 26 sin deterioro cognoscitivo. Se les aplicó la entrevista semi-estructurada de intento suicida, posteriormente se analizaron los resultados y se plantearon las siguientes conclusiones: Predominaron los ancianos con edades entre 60 y 69 a, raza blanca, escolaridad primaria, jubilados y con ingresos económicos medios, los principales factores de riesgo que antecedieron al intento suicida fueron: sentimiento de desesperanza, síndrome depresivo y antecedente patológico personal suicida, el factor protector para el suicidio presente en la mayoría de los ancianos fue el bienestar físico y la mayoría de ellos tenían red de apoyo social de tipo formal-informal, recibiendo fundamentalmente apoyo instrumental y percibiendo generalmente el apoyo social como de calidad deficiente.
其他摘要：A descriptive study was conducted aimed at identifying psychosocial, demographic and social important characteristics of the elderly who live in "10 de Octubre" municipality and who attempted suicide during the last 3 years.The sample was composed of 26 aged people without cognitive deterioration. The semi-structured interview of suicide attempt was made.The results were analyzed later and the following conclusions were reached: there was a predominance of aged white persons between 60 and 69 years old, with primary educational level, retired, and with average incomes. The main risk factors that preceded the suicide attempt were: feeling of hopelessness, depressive syndrome and pathological personal suicide history. The protective factor for suicide present in most of the elderly was physical well-being and most of them had a formal-informal network of social support and received mainly instrumental support and considered generally the social support as deficient.
