摘要：La crisis socioambiental es actualmente uno de los temas más polémicos en el mundo, ante esta situación ha sido planteado en diferentes eventos internacionales el Desarrollo Sustentable (OS) como un horizonte de posible solución. Con el objetivo de indagar la relación existente entre la investigación científica en las universidades autónomas venezolanas y el OS se realizó una investigación de carácter exploratoria-descriptiva, en la que se hizo uso intensivo y extensivo de la base de datos del Programa de Promoción al Investigador. Obteniéndose que las ciencias de la naturaleza son las de mayor representación, contradictoriamente a la ausencia de otras áreas prioritarias de conocimientos, tales como educación para la sostenibilidad, cambio climático, tecnología para la sostenibilidad, producción y consumo responsable, entre otros. Se concluye que, aún cuando se realiza investigación relacionada con el OS, es necesario fortalecer y explorar nuevas áreas relacionadas a lo social, técnico y económico, para lo cual se requiere de esfuerzos transdiciplinarios e interinstitucionales
其他摘要：The social-environmental crisis is currently one of the most controversial topics in the world. Therefore, Sustainable Oevelopment (SO) has been discussed at different international events as a possible solution. With the objective of investigating the existing relationship between scientific research and SO in public Venezuelan universities, an exploratory-descriptive study was carried out in which an intensive and extensive use of the Program for Promotion of the Researcher (PPR) data base was made. Results showed that the natural sciences have the highest representation, contradicting the absence of other high-priority areas of knowledge, such as education for sustainability, climate change, technology for sustainability and responsible production and consumption, among others. Conclusions were that even when research related to SO is performed, it is necessary to strengthen and explore new areas related to the social, technical and economicsectors ofsociety, for which transdisciplinary and inter-institutional efforts are required
